Hey Benny, I can help you out with the front GTI spoiler. I think the one on the cabrio has survived. Will be in touch. Also, Brackie and I will sort out a date for the northern drive very shortly. Keep an eye on the events section.
The old MK1 is going to be great mate. Check that floor please.
Cheers and a good 2007 to you, Andrew

Another fine Tas Mk1 in the making

          Thanks for the update!

You are to be commended on your work thus far - awesome to see yet another Tassie MKI project.

I am pleased this Golf has gone to someone who has the time, skillz and motivation to see this project thru.

...now can someone tell me why I sold this car!?!?!
          I want it back!

              hehe, thanks fellas!
suspension (at the moment*) is Monroe inserts in the front, and some cofaps in the back, lowered king springs all round.
thats basicly so i can start using it...i recon i will go some coil overs once i get the mk2 all sorted out...also talks in progress for a 16v on twin carbs.
....but, baby steps at the moment, lol.
              Cheers, Benny

Are you using the original carby on the mark1?

thanks fellas!! the motor n carbie is stocko.
the problem is the fuel pump . I managed to get dad under the bonnet today while i was at work....
im 120% shure ill be at the cruise..in the MK2 .
found a windscreen in stock in launceston. its going in on fri to get that fitted..then put in my std tail lights and it should be looking good for the transport inspection and all go for the tamar cruise.

hey mate, your doing a great job... just a few words of experience.

im not sure which monroes you have, but i've had experience with monroe GT-gas shocks and king springs same as you.

i found the monroes to be finw with stockie springs but once the heavier higher rate kings were in, the ride becomes very bouncy and you could lose some grip on a less that smooth surface. might be ok for the rear but i would look at swapping in something harder for the front inserts, maybe BOGE or SACHs super tourer.

keep goin mate! HAHAHAHAHAHA to the mk2 with steelies!

17's might be a touch big
                          4x4 indeed...
Wouldn't do much for acceleration either...

The other 5 spoke silver alloys look good
