16v's have more top end then an 8v, but down low lack compared to the 8v engines. The advantages over a stock 8v kjet engine would be a bit i reckon, you can get an 8v going hard though, thats what i'm doing

The 16v has more torque and power everywhere over an 8V. The delivery is different which makes it seem slower. You get 140 hp nearly in a completely standard engine. A fair but of messing to get the same out of an 8valve. Headers and a decent exhaust should get you close to 150 if you get it all set up right.

A very straight forward conversion in a car that's already Kjet. Unlike dropping one into a digifant car.

Yeah 16v feels slower down low but isn't. Trouble is you always end up wringing it out and using more fuel

I've considered it, but like you said its a pain with a digi engine. If i was going to go to the trouble of a 16v conversion i would go abf, but until then i will work the sh%t out of my 8v engine

any idea what HP figures you get from the 16v with a good exhaust and a set of mild cams?
              Cheers, Benny

I think the 16v is peaky enough and wouldn't bother putting wild cams in. For the sake of getting another 20hp then a port and polish would be nice but I've got a 2.25 exhaust and it hasn't realised much power imo.

You can make even an 8V peaky enough with a decent cam and a good port and polish
Especially if you want to avoid hassles with changed engine numbers, a well-built 8V is not that much short a decent 16v from what I've heard.
Having said that, a stock 16v might be a decent improvement over a stock 8v, where the percentage difference is greater....

Your 8v is probably giving 115 horses if you are lucky. 16v kr will hook up to your injection system and plug straight in and will give 139 out of the box Yours is one of the few Mk2s that would be an easy 16v kjey conversion Ben

I'm actually seriously looking into this also, except i'm running digi atm, but in the light of the turbo 16v mk1 rocco posted running wolf3d standalone i had an idea.. I have a wolf 3d sitting at home and loon has an engine

Need to seriously look into it all, oh btw Loon i need to grab the loom out of my mk1 from ya, hope you've still got it

Yeah thats the way Static. You cant get a 1991 car engineered for kjet, but a KR motor with aftermarket EFI and you are in.
THere are some nice fuel rails you can get in the US for US$100.

Decided i'm going to do it, as soon as nationals are done with i am going to start sourcing parts and getting adequate funds for all of it. Going to be KR running wolf 3D ecu, so should go like a cut snake
