looks like a hell of alot of piping for the cooler you may find it will have a bit more lag, but all in all looks good, nice to see im not the only one who cleans where others cant see keen to see this car in real life,

Bumper (going from the instrutions supplied) shouldnt have to be modified much if at all........although they are for a US golf so not sure if the bumpers are any differnt ?
I didnt want the intercooler pipes running up over the engine like in some kits that i have seen although what i really wanted was something like the forge kit ware both inlet and outlet of the intercooler are on the drivers side so pipe work isnt any longer but due to the poor dolar value i opted for this kit (you dont see any of it once everything is back on)

Had a bit of a painting mood thismorning so removed the lower skirt from the front bumper and prepped and painted it as it had some very hard hits on driveways and the like and also did the brake calipers

Well after lossing the battle but not the war with the FMIC i put the factory side mount back on and put the front of the car back together.

The only part i had left to fit was the intake pipe so whacked this on and thanks to Blitzen who came round and showed me how to "beg with it, asked it politely, offer it drinks, then threatened violence" to get it on
Havnt driven the golf for a while and have been driving around the boat (1966 HR holden) while i was tinkering with it so now when i take it for a drive it drives like a quick car and not a boat so cant "guess" at if the intake made any differance.

I got it from ECS as they had them on sale for round $160 USD.... Its made by APR and from what Blitzen told me its slightly more firm than his Forge brand although all in all i cant see a differance and would look for the best value item .

yer i had a look at them, the APR and Forge ones seem very similar. ECS has still got them for $160 US, cursing the exchange rate atm, it comes to $230 plus shipping which is a bummer!

Top stuff mate, It's really good to see someone taking on some DIY style work.

The lancer also looks/looked the goods. How much power was it making? perhaps a few more pics?

Well only been driving the car for a few days and the clutch slave cyl has sprung a slow leak (if you hold your foot on the clutch for too long it bleeds out) and the throw out bearing was shot when i bought the car so went on a mission thismorning to find replacment parts......
Now first of all i went to ECS site as i know they would have them and i could see how much they were selling them for and see if i couldnt get them locally for a similar price. What a joke !!!!!! long story short the parts are comming from the US (germanautoparts.com) and will be here in a week or so.
Now i dont mind doing most of the work on cars but one thing i refuse to do is gearboxes in FWD cars and not working anymore i dont have the use of a hoist so doing it at home off the ground dosnt make it any more appealing so i am glad to pay someone else to do it

I lernt alot about cars "playing" with the lancer but would like to keep this thread about the golf
