2 main items are the timming belt kit and TIP but ended up getting a heap of other little things like gaskets , cabin air filter, few clips that were missing/broken and just other general stuff to try n get my moneys worth with the postage costs.
I want to do the major service first then put the TIP and front mount on,put the intake back on so that im not moving things twice to do the work.

Did the thermostat and put the intake back on this arvo....

Not sure what i want to do with the engine cover tho...... my idea so far is to remove the 20v-turbo (the silver has come off so looks a lil dodgy anyways) paint it the same colour as the car and i have a porsch turbo badge that i took off the back of the car so put it ware the 20v turbo was.

Tomorrow i plan to do the timming belt/water pump and mayb the TIP and FMIC but will see how far i get

Lucky for the car the previous owner didnt have it too long .............not that i talked to the guy too much but he came across as a fool with no idea.
Was a bit disapointed in how the owner had kept it.(not osqar the guy i bought it off looked like the comic book guy from the simpsons)
But all in the past now ,have just about gone over every mm of the car and getting it up to my standard

Hey got the intercooler kit from eurocustoms and its basicly a nock off of the neuspeed kit although its half the price.

The main reason i purchased this kit is that the pipe work dosnt come over the top of the engine and two there is little to no cutting (although im yet to instal it) I would have liked the setup with the inlet and outlet of the core on one end to limit pipe length tho with the dollar the way it is ....cry cry whinge whinge
I was very pleased with the service i got from Eurocustoms too as they were very fast and helped me out with postage costs by nocking a bit off the cost of the FMIC

i like the size of the intercooler and the fact that i wouldnt haveta modify too many things
need it for a Polo TDI i wonder if they'll do it without all the plumbing!?

looks great mate, keep up the good work

                    Achived very little today
Pulled the front bumper off and spent a fair bit of time cleening up behind it...... behind the drivers side wheel arch plastics was enough dirt to fill a pot and grow a plant in it???? not sure how it ended up there as there is noware else that had even close to the same amount.

I started to pull everything off the car so i could do the water pump and timming belt but only got as far as removing the intercooler, auxilary belt/tentioner , engine mount and at this point i noticed that the part of the power steering res was broken (just the part with the bolt that holds it down)
Looks like it must have been whacked cos the long bolt that holds it in place was bent aswel,so spent some time fixing that and i guess the good thing is that il change the power steering fluid while im at it.
Will try n get a bit more motivated tomorrow .

Well did the timming belt and water pump ..........what a fun job
I really loved taking the engine mount out and even better putting it back in

Put the front mount on which was nice and simple although a few modifications were needed to make it fit.... 1. on the bottom of the reo bar there is a bolt that holds the bracket that goes around the bonnet latch which i had to remove as in the instructions it didnt exist (maybe a US thing ?) 2. I had to fiddle with the lower tabs on the core as they didnt really line up to well but this wasnt a big issue.
I tek screwed it all in place then went about fitting the pipe work and once that was done i tightened all hose clamps and then replaced the tek screws with bolts n washes .
A few picks of how it goes.............

Oh and the kit allowed for a map sensor that must be near the factory i/c on other models so i made up a plate to block it off.

That car will pretty much be complete now , get a decent set of coilovers and fix the cat back on the exhaust and its pretty much finished . PM me if you want any info , I first worked on it back in 02

Still need to cleen up the lower skirt on the bumper as it has a few marks on it when i had the car transported up from sydney . Also need to fit the intake pipe and change the brake fluid pluss a few other little things befor i take it for a drive.
Hey thanks for the heads up too Bug_racer alway glad to have a souce of info on this car as the guy i bought it off did have a folder with all the work that had been done to the car but didnt look like he added to it and it seemed a little incomplete .....Suspension is on my list as the car sits lower at the front than the back making it scrape up the smallest of drivways tho it dose still handle well. As far as the exhaust the only thing i can see wrong with it is the cat, as its definatly smaller than the down pipe and the rest of the exhaust so this looks like an easy fix .
