Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i also use QFM A1RMs on my Octavia. Great bite, and i also got no fade on the track. they seem to be eating my rotors slowly. personally, i dont care how long the pad lasts as long as they stop quickly and consistently. they are piss easy to change.

was thinking of trying the HC800 but after Martin's feedback i think i will stick to the A1RMs

ill check what brand the race car uses and get back to you. but i have a feeling they start at 250 degrees so probably not so good for street driving

I cant wait to have my DBA T3 4000 fronts & T2 rears fitted, along with Forza FP3 pads and Brakes Direct stainless lines. I'll be heading down to Wakefield in June and I'm keen to experience what everyone's been talking about for so long.

Updates to this thread on the forzas?

I have A1rm on my MK4, I have never experienced fade, but maybe it's just that the MK4 stock calipers don't apply enough pressure! I can press on the brakes fairly hard before anything urgent happens.

I drove my friends mk7.5 GTI with twin piston calipers and my word they are absolutely insane.

Makes my brakes feel like I'm stopping with pieces of wood.
