cheers fella's, i just had chat with Matt at brakes direct and will be calling in to see him tomorrow regarding some remsa pads and racing fluid...

just got to get them fitted and book time attack now, oh yes...

Remsa will be adequate for occasional track use, I ran them for a while on both Polo's, red (312mm rotor) and silver (288mm rotor), though I was probably on their limit in the red car and exceeded their limit on the silver - though I'm running semi slicks... So, like with the fluid, best to not drive within a whisker of their ability, roll off the throttle that little bit earlier, i.e. run it to 95% braking rather than 100%, that little bit will ensure you don't overheat it or out brake yourself. It's the peak spike in temp when you've overcommitted that that overheats the brakes and tyres.

I've got QFM A1RM's on the track polo now and they are great for my application. I think Nat may have pushed their limit on his car, so may be trial and error. The error doesn't mean binning it, just the brake pedal will lack feel for days there after, assuming it comes back to good feel. I've never had issues with brake fluid and when I've overcooked the pads, it's lacked feel rather than clamping ability. Though once they've cooled and you drive the next day, they've lacked clamping.

When in contact with Paul Ruzic, see if he put us all in the pit bays of a similar location (we won't be far a part if he can't). We'll also be across different groups and once the day starts it's quite busy between runs so being sociable can be difficult.
