Hey guys ended up going to the track day...
This was a late last minute decision. 12.30am the night b4.
I rocked up at sandown race course with only 2 of the track day requirements: bonnet strap and fire extinguisher.
I forgot about applying contact to all forward facing glass and to have an empty car. that was soon fixed untill i was told my bonnet strap didnt meet the requirements.
i gave my mechanic my belt and we quickly bolted it on, that passed, that chain i had on originally didnt!!
it felt like i was going in for a roadworthy inspection.
only stayed for 1 full run which consisted of warm up 3 fast and cool down.
In that run i was able to really feel the potential of my car around turns and propper over taking...
i was actually quite surprised with my standard breaks they did very well... however what stunned me the most were my tires... i have never felt anything that sticky in my life...cornering was amazing. thats where i really moved on the timesheet. The konis were good but i probably should of had them a little stiffer. too bad i only stayed for one run.
Felt sorry for another first timer on the track with me. he was in a completly standard honda civic 03 model into his 2nd lap, attacked turn one a little too late and consequently rolled his car. he was fine the car is a write off.
I cant imagine how he would of been feeling while watching his car get towed off the track.
