What do I have to do to get my CAMS licence in time to do this day?

Hmmm this is very tempting.

What day will you guys be doing, Sat or Sunday?

As i have never run Phillip Island before, i was thinking I might do Saturday to learn the track.

Just apply and they should be able to issue you a temporary licence that can be used on the day.
Send them an email first if you are worried but shouldn't be an issue.

I'm pretty sure the PIARC events are members only - it's one of the cheaper clubs (only $60).

GoLfMan, you can apply for your licence at the CAMS office in Caulfied as soon as you have proof of club membership. We can continue our drag race down Gardener Straight

Im all go. Tommorrow will raise the suspension a bit (shock horror) and sort out a fire extinguisher. How did you mount yours Greg?

sort out a fire extinguisher. How did you mount yours Greg?

I have a piece of 3mm x 25mm aluminium strip under my passenger seat rails, bolted through the front mounts. It is bent so that the seat movement and underseat drawer is not blocked. It also has 2 6mm holes drilled in it and these are where I bolt a 90 degree extrusion of aluminium which has the fire extinguisher mount screwed on to it.

It's much simpler to show you than to describe (I haven't taken any decent pics of it but here is a crappy one).

Maybe a few of us can roll down together early in the morning (need time to swap my wheels over at the track).
