Another event is the 2011 Alfa Club Winton 6 hr on 15 and 16 October 2011.

One day, I'd love to put a 6 hour team together with a hotted up PD Polo. Given that my (fairly stock) Polo used under 12l/100km at the recent Winton track day, despite my best efforts to flog it, it'd be a pretty good endurance racer due to the smaller number of pit stops vs a (obviously faster) petrol engined car.
I am sooo hanging for the island! Sick of walking around the track after GP's and drooling over the sweeping layout of it

Sorry you are correct ill be there in the 9th for the circuit day.

Id rather pay less and get more track time on the Saturday then get timed on the Sunday with less laps and more ego's...

It's only $10 more for the Sunday and you can tell how your lines are working with timing. But you can do that too if get someone to come along and take times.

Some of us will be going up to Winton on the 10th to run the 2nd round of the Victorian SuperSprint Championship (and stroke our egos )

If ya want seat time which m sure most of your do Saturday is hard to beat. Its relaxed yet professional, heaps of seat time and well run.

SaturdayHas been allotted as a circuit familiarisation/driver training day where advice from racing drivers will be available for
those who require it, or competitors may go out an learn the circuit on their own. Competitors will be allowed a
substantial time on the track (We would expect approximately 1 hour of track time in the form of a number of 15-30
minute sessions). The entry fee for Saturday is $190.00 (Entries before 04/07/11 $170.00).

Adzy, Winton is on the to go list, but I still haven't decided what to do my front rotors (another set of OEM's, DBA's etc). Chasing prices and getting feedback but so far another set of OEM rotors looks like the best option along with a modification of my right foot and brain!

Will leave PI until I've got a few more days under my belt. Sandown is convenient given the location though so I can see myself being there a couple times a year without question.

It's a shame that this area of the forum isn't so much busier. These cars are fantastic fun out on the track and I'm with the others, avoiding the timed days to just get out there enjoy yourself with no ego pressure is a great day out.

IMO it would be a better option to go a DBA Street or 4000 series slotted rotor as they are made from a stiffer steel than the OEM's and the slots help with clearing hot gasses and dust etc. the ventilation is also more efficient than OEM and price almost the same ;D but up to you.

It is a shame but hopefully I will be atending many more events going forward and Dave, you cant go wrong with a Golf R as when you get into trouble the car drives itself

Yeah I'm doing plenty of reading and research at the moment. Getting a lot of mixed info but I think I'll take a punt on the 4000's as they appear to be the same cost as the OEMs almost.

Ah good reminder. I'd better get a bracket made up for one of them.

Yep. It's not hard - we can help with these at the next track day we see you.
