If your worried about it and you want to do it regularly then don't use your everyday driver because if your driving in any sort of event whether it's on a track or tarmac rally or whatever sooner or later your going to have a bingle, or mechanical breakage of some sort, so you should be sure your prepared to accept this before you take your car on the track or into one of these type of events. As long as you can accept that then go for it cause it's the most fun you'll have keeping your pants on.
That's why this didn't bother me and I'm sure why Guy's problems he's had at some of the Duttons blowing up diffs etc don't bother him, it's all part and parcel of competing in your car that something will go wrong eventually.
As long as you learn from it and learn why it happened and try your best not to do it again in the long run it's all good experience and most of all good fun driving your car at the limit in a safe and controlled environment.
Thanks for the good wishes for the next event Alex. I'm really really looking forward to Mt Buller as I grew up driving on that type of road in BC and that type of event interests me a lot more than the motorkhana type stuff you get in the Dutton series.
Oh and BTW if you think my bingle was bad spare a thought for this guy from the Suncoast Classic held last weekend on the sunshine coast. Though being a plastic surgeon I'm sure if he does 10 boob jobs it will pay for the repair.
