here's a pic of the car that myself and my vw driving dad (eddy) will be piloting in the rally this week.

it is finally ready to go and just in the nick of time too, with the old man giving it the final touches before scrutineering tonight.
dont worry about the nissan badge folks, as his gti will take its place should something go wrong with my car

guy, have a safe trip and we will see you in goulburn in a few days time.

      cheers,
      ben

Looks like we do! - You know we only live for drag racing the drags are known to kill more Dutton competitors drivetrains than the rest of the event combined but we will give it a shot

Great day, and great to meet Guy, Eddie and a few others competing. I ran up to Wakefield first thing, only to discover the running order had reversed, and Guy was at the Sutton HillClimb. MACCAA and I decided we'd better head to Canberra, and caught all the action. Then back to Wakefield, where we caught up with FL00DY and a few others.

The Pog did respectable times at Wakefield, but I think MACCAA still holds the fastest Polo lap at WPR (hand-timed )

                A couple of pics, FTW

                  Results

Hey guys can some1 explain to me the way those results work for dutton cause to me times that are slower are getting higher on the list?

It's based on classes, events, and the total time of both drivers (actually, it's more complicated that that, but hopefully that gives you the gist)

                          What straight?

At Eastern Creek we could see about 220kmph before braking & turning. On the 800m run it once topped 200kmph, but the other 3 runs were slightly slower due to bad launches.

Car went really well, the throttle body died at the end of day one and you couldnt launch the car (only at 1000 rpm or 5500rpm plus) so we lost heaps of time on the launches.

Still it outperformed lots & lots of cars & impressed many, many people.

                          Came 14th in crew handicap (40th outright), 17th driver handicap (60th outright), 13th co-driver handicap (34th outright)
3rd in drivers class, 1st place in co-drivers class (so a couple of trophies came home today )

Was a great weekend, some awesome tracks, awesome hillclimbs - next year will be great now that we have seen the circuits, we should be much quicker around there.

Fuzion, whats your best lap time at Wakefield or Eastern Creek as a benchmark for us?

                            My only pics:

Tyre delaminated to the canvas (little worried about this at Eastern creek - it started on the front)

                            Wakefield

Aston martin Vantage in the background - we were quicker than him around Wakefield (but lots were quicker than us)

                            Eastern Creek

The little Polo has now been around these race tracks - not bad for a car with 14,000kms on it

Good results, Guy -- all things considered. Great to meet you, too. Lots of activities in this event, so it's pretty gruelling -- on cars and drivers -- just making it to the end is a result.

Looking at that tyre, I'm glad I didn't come up to Eastern Creek! -- you were looking 'acquisitively' at my tyres on the Saturday morning!

Hey Timbo, thanks mate - good to catch up, shame we didnt have more time!

Both Wakefield & Eastern creek are awesome circuits - I just have to work out how to get down to NSW a bit more often!

                                Cheers
