  • Classic Adelaide marred by deaths

Two competitors were killed today when their car hit a tree. RIP

I actually went down and watched the last stage today and only heard about this when a mate called me as I arrived home

Sad to hear. Doesn't look like there's much margin for error on that corner. Not the first fatalities at the Classic Adelaide either (I think?).

I heard the news in the car this arvo about the same time as I saw a competing Subaru heading home for the day (driving very sensibly too, unlike most WRX drivers).

It's a very sad day indeed. David navigated in many of our clubs events and was one of the smiling faces who greeted us at the end of stages at the Alpine Rally last weekend......Geoff

Never a good thing but atleast it happened doing something they loved doing.

              Extremely sad news, RIP fellas...
We have been in an event down here where someone was lkilled 1.75 kms into the first stage and it marred the rest of the weekend for everyone.
My thoughts go out to the families, friends, organisers and fellow competitors....

Very sad to hear it, old 911's have a nasty habit of going arse about on power-off / braking. RIP.

Very sad indeed. Makes you reconsider whether to continue in this specie of the sport. Kersbrook is a fairly quick stage. Here is some in car going in the "forward" direction. The stage was being run in reverse when the incident happened. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIaEZFt1_D4
