      Hi everyone,

Well we made it through the weekend totally unscathed with only a small half spin when we had a suspension issue (loose strut) and finished in 36th out of 75 entries which we are very happy with.

We had a small issue with the front left strut coming loose around special stage 5 that we didn't rectify until we found the issue after special stage 8 and once it was fixed we were straight back into the 9 min 50's and did our best run of a 9:52.56.

Dean and Brett in the MKV GTI were flying all weekend, with 9 min 20's and came second in thier class and 24th outright which is a fantastic result.

The weather was brilliant all weekend, organisation fantastic, David from Ambulance Private in showroom in his R32 and the service crew were brilliant and we had a fantastic weekend.

The car is now on it's way to Hobart for a decent service and prep for Targa Wrest Point that starts the last week of January.

We are off from Mt Buller now to Volkspower to say G'day to Dean and Brett and then fly back to Brisbane around 6PM.

      Cheers Al & Marti

Excellent result for the R32's and golf, i was in the touring class with my polo Gti and let me tell you ive probaly driven the road a good 50 times in the last few years but nothing came close to driving the road under closed conditions and being able to take the racing lines out of the corners- it was a real good buzz to fully max out the car and experience the cars full potential through the windy road. Heard a whispar that the touring class wont be running next year- which would be a massive shame.

Hey Stas1, we saw you and the Golf GTI driving out of the staging area while we were waiting for our last run on Sunday and we all gave you you guys a big cheer, all of us in the R32's and GTI were sitting having a chat as you guys drove past.

Will be a shame if they drop the touring class but you could do the touring class in Targa Wrest Point or Targa Tas which is even better!!! or you could get a cage in that Pogo GTI and come back next year and have a flat chat run with all of us, the more VW's in the field the better.

          Cheers Al
