VWCWA Inc have not been with CAMS since we pulled the pin in '83, as the fees were over the top for little on offer. Club fees would have to go up if we rejoined and I suspect the number of members wanting a CAMS lic would be minimal.

There's also the Vintage Sporting Car Club inc. (VSCCWA). Although there's not too many of us on here with cars 'vintage' enough to qualify. Maybe some early mk1's.
I still joined coz a friend lends me his mk1 Escort RS2000 to race-1990 Mk2 GTI 5-door with AMK 20vt (260hp @ wheels)

WRX Owners Club of WA are CAMS affiliated. www.wrxownersclub.com.au
There's a few VW's in the club (couple of R32's and a few GTI's including mine, plus some Porsches). Club is very much focused on track and motorsport activities. Dont get any ricer's in the club as they tend to stick to internet forums and fully sic cruises.
Very well organised and great value track and tuning days at AHG, Barbagallo, Collie, Mt Ommanney hillclimb. We get to use the long track at AHG on 2 Sundays of the year. Only club that does so from what I understand (due to the popularity of the V8 rides)

Around the Newcastle area the MG Car Club has a bunch of events including a few hillclimbs a year at the Ringwood Circuit (near Raymond Terrace), and the Mattara Hillclimb. They also do the odd Motorkhana and they had a track day down at Eastern Creek on VW Nationals Weekend too.

This is one of my mates demonstrating the Ringwood circuit.

If you obtained your license under VWCV then you probably need to join another club to race as you have to have both a license and a current membership of a CAMS affiliated club.
Of course come renewal time you'll need to join some club other than VWCV in any case.
I chose PIARC.

Guys,
best run club i've ever been a part of, with a very very professional attitude is the Maserati club of Australia (inc). Annual fees are very low, and they can/do have a register for club permits.
Maserati Club of Australia, Inc.
With this club, I am able to have my 1962 Vespa, and my 1972 Fiat Spyder club registered without any hassles. Also note, that the majority of members do NOT own a Maserati.
Hope this helps.More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

Dear God, I am dooing my head in looking for a CAMS affiliated club in Victoria hopefully in Melbourne or west of Melbourne. I have stumbled across some but they usually are involved with more advanced competition or dirt rally. I am after Gymkana's and track days.... mainly just the tame stuff and a club that is fairly large and active.
Any suggestions HUGELY appreciated as I am new to the whole club thing
