Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

In around 14 months time my car will be out of warranty & after that the dealer won't see it again. I am one of those people that likes to know how things work. I can't remember a car that I have owned where I didn't buy a manual at the same time, I have 3 for my T4. I don't like other people working on my cars, so I do every thing myself. When I bought my T4 I found the plastic cover over the cabin filter was broken around a clip, probably when the battery was replaced, a new one is $74. Good mechanics are hard to find & none of them are as carefull & spend the time as you would on your own car.

Might be an idea to have one on hand, so they don't try and pull a "Flux Capacitor" trick on you, and sting you for the privilege. I intend to buy one, as VW dealers are not renowned for their service honesty or reliability.
