In around 14 months time my car will be out of warranty & after that the dealer won't see it again. I am one of those people that likes to know how things work. I can't remember a car that I have owned where I didn't buy a manual at the same time, I have 3 for my T4. I don't like other people working on my cars, so I do every thing myself. When I bought my T4 I found the plastic cover over the cabin filter was broken around a clip, probably when the battery was replaced, a new one is $74. Good mechanics are hard to find & none of them are as carefull & spend the time as you would on your own car.Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

Might be an idea to have one on hand, so they don't try and pull a "Flux Capacitor" trick on you, and sting you for the privilege. I intend to buy one, as VW dealers are not renowned for their service honesty or reliability.Originally posted by peedman View PostCurious but wouldnt u want to take it back to the dealer to do any important stuff since most would be under warranty too??sigpicTwo more feet and I can fit it in the fridge!!-Homer S.
