Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Decoding Vehicle Sticker.

I don't know if it was posted somewhere else in the forum, I quickly searched and couldn't find anything similar. It is from Russian website and I found it very useful.
    www.jetta-club.org • Scroll it down a bit.

Please let me know if you have anything better (easier to use). I saved the page in my desktop and then copied and pasted in the word document to remove not needed text and it is over 200 pages document. You can download MS Word file here: Decoding Vehicle sticker.doc Vehicle sticker.doc

Sticker is located in the boot and tells a lot of info about your vehicle and options fitted.

Thanks for doing this - I was very disappointed when the original search website disappeared and this partially makes up for this loss.

Just a hint, if you're looking for the code that is not listed and you know it is code for the battery; example: just google J2T battery and you most likely find it, than you can edit this document, saving the next person time.

              Hi there
I was interested about his myself and Googling found this site:
Volkswagen VIN Decoder / VW VIN Decoder. I don't know how accurate it is, but it tells me my Jetta is made in S/Africa. Can anybody elaborate in the findings?.
