  • 6 speed DSG oil change on mk6 GTI

I was speaking to someone recently who knows a service tech in a vw dealership.
He was told the correct method of doing the DSG oil change was that the new oil was heated to a
predetermined temperature before inserting it into the gearbox. Can anyone confirm this please ?

    Negative.

Fill transmission, start car, and continue to fill until fluid temp is in the mid-30s, then let the excess drain out.

I can't recall the exact temperature off the top of my head, but the test plan in the VW diagnostic software clarifies it.

I believe between 35C and no hotter than 45C for overflow via the snorkel to adjust level after refilling, on draining having the fluid warm just speeds things up and warm fresh fluid also speeds things up on refill.
