How big a tank in a CC

hi all, strange question but does anyone know exactly how big a fuel tank a Cc Has? I assumed 70ltrs, inter web says 68ltrs
Reason i ask is that the other night i had at least 3ltrs left in the tank and i managed to fill it with 72ltrs of vortex diesel, hence my confusion

The filler neck can hold some fuel, but not 5L. Perhaps there wasn't 3L left.

I did think that but i filled 72ltrs from the pump and had 45ks worth according to distance thingy so my thoughts were as my cars ltr per 100 is a constant, 6/100 so figured there was at least 3ltrs, but wanted to see if anyone had a firm idea on the exact size ie it might be 75

The 'estimated range' (emphasis on estimated) is just a calculation based on your current rate of fuel consumption.

It doesn't acutally measure the amount of fuel remaining in your car.


Fuel tank capacity of your 2009 VW Passat CC is approximately 70 l.

The 2012 VW CC (which dropped the prefix Passat) has a capacity of approx. 68 l.

It also could be the pump error, not in you favour. It happens to me too sometimes.

I always fill at the same pump - but on some occasions when I've really pushed it into the red, I've put 57L into my 55L octavia tank

perhaps you were patient enough filling to also fill up the vent tank.

Could be, I'll try same pump again tonight for my fortnightly fill and see if I can get 70+ again
