Today I went down to pick up some brake fluid for my 1975 passat and realized that there are two types of brake fluid dot 3 and dot 4. I have no idea which one to use, if someone does know please help me out. thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it's DOT4, I'll check an owner's manual tonight.

The '79 Passat manual I've got here says DOT3 or DOT4.
