Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mobil sells its retail outlets.

Not sure if its been mentioned on here yet....

I have been informed over the weekend that Mobil has sold its retail outlets to 7-Eleven.
As of 3rd October the Mobil fuel cards cannot be used at the Mobil service stations.

I currently use only Mobil (have fuel cards with them and they are conveniently located near me) so will find out more from my work as to what's going on, whether they will still be supplied by mobil, whether its Australia wide, what fuel cards will replace the Mobil one etc....

That is good news that 7/11 are expanding, they put the pressure on the bigger guys here and force the lowering of fuel costs a bit more.
It was more noticeable when they started up and they are hte first to drop.

My local 7/11 also refuses to run premium unleaded instead, running E10 and regular unleaded so it satisifes a market for all the pre 1995 cars that are not reccomended for E10 fuel while still maintaining the E10 sales it is mandated to have.
