  • How much are you paying for 507 spec oil?

Just wondering if there is a great difference in the cost of Castrol 507 spec lube oil around the different states?

Just purchased 5 ltrs from the workshop barrel in to my clean 5 ltr container for $75 plus GST of 7.50, making $82.50 all up ($16.50 per ltr).

As a comparison, today my dealer charged $118.30 for 7 litres (or $16.90/L) as part of my 75,000km service for the T5. (edit:that's ex-gst)

You can get Penrite Enviro+ 5W30 (in 5L) for $76.00 incl. GST or less, if you shop around.

I get Mobil 507 off Pacific Petroleum in Brisvegas for $14 odd for a one litre bottle (thats how I buy it).

you can get a 20L container and it's really economical per litre but I don't like having a big whopping bottle open and the dealer might swipe some off me...

$75 for 6 litres of Titan SuperSyn 5W40.....and that's the same as what my dealer charges....but thats a 505 000 grade

For the 507 000 grade that'd be Titan GT1 Pro C3 and I suspect that's just a little bit more....

                    Holy suffering socatash !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surely someone in NZ sells a 507 oil cheaper ? Penrite, Shell, Fuchs and others are available here in Oz (at considerably cheaper prices). It would even be worth buying a 20l drum if you had to.

You're better off ordering it here from a VW dealer in Aust. and freighting it over, that's more then double the charge I had for a dealer service, or near triple for your retail price!!
