  • Upgrading to Leather Seats Golf R

So im thinking of upgrading to leather. My car came with fabric seats and theres a place in Melbourne (used by the dealers) that will do it for approx $1500 and that includes getting the R logo on there too.

Has anyone done this in the past to any car of their cars, is it worth it?

Upgrading to Leather Seats Golf R

Mate...I wanted leather in my car, and ordered in Brissie. The car they had did not have leather and they did a fantastic job of it. They not only did the seats, but also did all of the arm rests, centre console, rear seats and same etc and included the R logo. I was surprised at just how the leather quality is better than the factory level. BUT...I did this at the time that the factory option was $3,100 and the leather was $2,800, so it was double what you have been quoted. For me it was still worth it. I don't know how good a quality leather you'll get for $1,500, the leather I got was soft and hard wearing so you may find you get what you pay for!

I did my MY14 Tiguan because VW's leather upgrade was $3,500 AND I couldn't apply it to the base model (wanted a proper gearbox).

Doyle's did my leather for $2,000. They are a national company. They did everything, including the arm rests, centre console and headrests.

The beauty of the after-market leather is that you can pick the colours. I ended up with black. Leather with blue stitching to match the exterior colour.

He's actually came back and said $2300 which seams more realistic. I do like how you can do different colours like black leather on the side bolsters and cream down the middle would be nice. Have you guys got any pics of yours?

Sorry, totally forgot about this. Here's a couple of shots of the interior of my Tig.
