Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Sydney Detailer/Paint Protection - New MK7 Golf R Wolfsburg

After some recommendations and advice regarding my options for local detailers and paint protection.

I'm picking up a Wolfsburg R in November and I want to get the car paintwork cleaned (fixed after the dealer "cleans" it) and then protected with Opti-Coat Pro+, Ceramic Pro or something similar. I will probably also get the front windows tinted to match the manufacturers rear tints and might get the interior treated too.

I've found 3 detailers that have been mentioned on this and other forums but I wanted to know if there are any other recommendations and where is 'the' place to go for not only the best product but also the best quality work.

Appreciate all the information you can throw my way.

    Cheers

+1 for this.. I've got a Wolfsburg on the way too. After the same treatment.

I've come across this guy. I can't attest to his work personally, but his photos tell a good story: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ml#post1150101

Ha ha it just happens to be that Frank at Definitive Detailing is the exact person I've booked in with for the post delivery correction and paint protection!

Me too, a blue Wolfie wagon almost landed. I've heard about 'soft' paint & correction but don't know where to go in Sydney. That's first, then a clear wrap front, back & sides for the dirt roads I'll be on. Has anyone else seen who does factory correction in Sydney?

Frank over at Definitive Detailing is amazing. Really helpful and friendly guy. He not only detailed my Mk6 GTI but he took some great photos too! Once I get my new set of wheels I will definately be getting the optic quote

We do offer detailing in Sydney as well, however if you're too far from us (Five Dock) we could suggest Mitch from Sydney Mobile Detailing also.

I am sure you can troll through our threads and see our work of a lot of vw's and audi's we have done over the years and continue to do so on a weekly basis in fact.

Also note that VWWC contributing members also receive a free wash pack from CCP as well as per our on-going commitment to the forum
