Mk1 GTi side stripe?

Does anyone know the widths of the two black stripes along the lower flanks of MK1 GTis?

I've got the correct sizes if anyone is interested.
12mm and 50mm. Too easy.

I thought they were 49mm, 15mm gap, 9mm.

Well i measured mine off the genuine article. I think i'm qualified to use a ruler too!!!!
I read somewhere there were two different sizes depending on the age of the car.....

We must be GTI city.
I tried to measure the black GTI stipes on my car today but didn't know where to start so I gave up.

Not out to cause any trouble but I have a customers 83 GTI at work at the moment. And yes, it is a known car by all concerned. Pretty original too.
