Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK 7 R hit by idiot P Plater- anybody know a decent repairer in Melb?

So I got woken up at 2am this morning by cops, who told me my R had been hit by an 18 year old in a jeep wrangler, who somehow drove over a large roundabout, broke his axle (?), and managed to travel 150m down the road into my parked car... I've got two panels of damage, and probably a bent axle. Massively pissed off!!

Anybody know a decent repairer in Melbourne? Insurance says I can pick...

And why the car is not kept in a garage?
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD
Toyota 86 GTS Performance Pack Moon Slate - RWD
MINI Cooper S Clubman - FWD

ahh, I got home at 1am and had to be out at 6am again. I don't have a garage at my place, I have a secure car park on the next street, and was a bit lazy/tired to walk the 5 minutes...

There is a place in South Melbourne which i chose when i had some repairs

I had been past there many times and always impressive cars out the front, Audi R8, Hummer, Ferrari. They did a fantastic job and my car is black metallic

I have also heard Mr Gloss in Moorabbin is fantastic

Spencer Panels are pretty good... Repaired my old Forester well enough that a panel beater mate couldn't pick it
