Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

How does this compare to the Einszett 1Z?

    Does it affect painted wheels?

Does not affect painted wheels or any painted surface for that matter (same as car paint, just your wheels!)

Comparison would be, much stronger and has a quicker working time. So overall i guess less is used? But all very similar to one another, some find differences and some marginally if not at all.

I use IronX and my wheels have been painted with 2Pac paint (same colour as the car) - no problem at all
I would say it's normally necessary to use a brush - maybe I don't wash the wheels often enough
I have now used Nanolex wheel sealant on the right side of the car - I will be interested to see how the next wash goes!

(Do not let the IronX dry on the wheels!)

Depends how bad your wheels are to if you require a brush or not.. 1 month of rain almost every day and a BBK i had to use a brush a little to agitate the dust. Saying that, i do clean inside and out and take wheels off every 3 months to clean inside properly.

Having a sealant on also helps the cleaning process as well.
