  • Touch up paint for scratches

Has anyone tried one of the kits,Kit Code Btkw 4 - D.I.Y Car Touch Up Paint Repair Kits And Automotive Car Paint, or would I be better off visiting a panel shop?

I can get touch-up paint made up at one of my panel shop clients if you give me a paint code. Being off the code only I can't promise an exact match though, and I won't post it, so depends where in Melbourne you are.

Just to wrap this up, I ended up buying a touch up kit (9ml bottles of base and clear with brushes in the lid) from a VW dealer for $20 - they just needed the VIN.
Definitely the way to go if your paint isn't faded.

Can anybody please tell me how to use the touch up set, it comes with a base coat and a clear coat and i can't figure out which one to apply first? I don't understand why VW would sell kits written in German to AUS. Thanks in anticipation

Base goes first. Try to keep the paint inside the scratch/chip, otherwise it will stand out like...you-know-what
