Hey I just realised, that BMW, thats the same dude thats going to be doing my car, yippie, now I'm confident. That BMW looks hot BTW!Originally posted by Wolfgang View PostCars always look great when you pick them up from the dealer because they apply a glaze to mask any marring. Think of it as putting icing on a cake. :p
This will give you an idea on how bad a brand new car can be. Pic 5 is the money shot. BMW 335i Dealership Horror!! And Cquartz Finest

Well, my car got paint protected on Saturday and I could not be happier with the results, all those little swirly scratches are gone and the car looks flawless, it actually looks better than when I picked it up, it looks like there is a glass layer on top of it. Waiting for him to post up where he normally posts up so I can share the link!
Thanks, I probably would be regretting it if I did not go ahead.

Coming from a detailing background myself, I personally think it is a con. The best way to protect your paint is to wash the car on a reg basis. apply a light polish once to twice a year and apply a yellow wax after polish. This helps prevents things like sap marks, bird droppings seeping into the paint, etc...
As always, different courses for different horses

If your anally fussy like I am, u wash once a week regardless, car so clean it takes me literally 30min to wash and chamois dry. as always, best way is some elbow grease and some time. good products make a difference. Personally like a mix of auto glym products and u cant beat he mequirs yellow waxOriginally posted by Hillbilly View PostAbsolute waste of money.
If you want it done, get it done yourself after taking delivery. still wasted money IMHO
My wife got it done on one car she bought Then found out we could have got the outfit that dealer got to do it would have done it for under half the dealer price
BE WARNED
Also it never made any improvement to the paint
Window tinting Same applies take car home get on here and ask for recommendations SAVE MONEY
If you want a show car there is a sponsor on here who makes a great job of rejuvenating old scratched paint.
However with a new vehicle a good polish with a quality product is all thats needed UNLESS you are anally fussy

I did some research on this myself and found the following post:Originally posted by driva View PostI will soon take delivery of a new Polo. The dealer is recommending "Fusion Advanced Protection" interior and exterior treatment for around $1400. I notice it's also being offered by other car dealers including Holden and BMW. The sales pitch is quite extraordinary "lifetime warranty, no need for inspections" etc, etc. It's on the website as well.
Advanced Protection: Welcome
I'm aware there is a fair amount of opposition to dealer treatment plans because they're seen as rip offs. Obviously the dealer is also aware of the industry's poor reputation and assures me that this is a far superior product which, "unlike the others" does what it says it will do. I'm told the product has been around for about two years, and conveniently (for the dealers) it is only available through dealers .. or so I'm told.
So is there anyone out there who has had this product on their car for a while and, better still, parks it in the street and rarely washes it?
Also I'd like some feedback on window tinting. Worth doing or not. Thanks.
