Yes those cars do look cool but at the end of the day they are all exotics or luxury cars and no matter what colour they are, they are always going to look cool regardless.

I've seen one of these in the flesh in the UK (granted it was an Edition 30) and it did look **** hot, but it had a lot of money spent on other details other than the wrapping.
Definitely wrap it though, you would have to be pretty dumb to respray a car that new because you have a few blemishes on your paint, wait until you buy a write off, that justifies a respray

uh, this is a 2005(axx motor) that has done 170,000km and i paid fa for the car, beefed it up with tbe, hpa susp, ccode tune, short shifter, big wheels, brake upgrade blah blah blah, its my mod mobile so it doesnt bother me to respray it especially when it will also cost me fa.Originally posted by nightphotographer View PostI've seen one of these in the flesh in the UK (granted it was an Edition 30) and it did look **** hot, but it had a lot of money spent on other details other than the wrapping.

It's all good an well posting pics of matt black cars than have just been cleaned and detailed for a photoshoot, of course they'll look good!
Go to a dodgey part of town and keep your eyes open for a banged up old commodoore or charade that's been done matt black and hasn't been detailed or maintained. they look sh*t.
So by all means do it, but be aware, it'll need maintaining to keep it looking good.
as for colour code: it's matte black. talk to your painter mate, i'm sure he'll be able to get some for you. It does depend on which paint system you use/what method you spray (as wolfgang has already eluded too)
p.s. I'd also class those audis and lambo as 'satin' rather than matte. they've got a bit more shine as opposed to the mk 5. (which is variable depending on paint method (see above line)

Thanks for the advice guys, some varying ideas about whether to do it or not. I hadn't thought about keeping it clean, I guess theplastidip might be an option for reversibility sake. Can anyone tell me how much plastidip would be required to do a mkvgti? Given that its already black.Volvo S60 RD T6

I don't want to come off rude here but that's gonna cost me more than just a respray on a car I don't have to buy?Originally posted by nightphotographer View PostUpon reflection, here's what I would do if respray's cost 'fa'.
Buy a MK1/2/3
Pick a more desirable/less common/less bogan/more OEM paint choice.
Respray it.Volvo S60 RD T6

A nicely professionally car painted matte/satin black will look a hell of a lot better than the commodore street which a couple guys probably painted in an hour or two with 10 cans of $2 spray paint and a case of beer, although (no offence) I'd be questioning the ability of your mates paint shop if they have no idea how to paint something matte.
It's your car, do what you want
Nicely done matte paint does look pretty awesome when its done nicely and kept clean. As others said though it could hurt resale value, if that's something you care about.
I vote do it
