Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Chipped windscreen

I got a stone chip in the windscreen today, from a stone flicked off of truck on the Bolte Bridge. Bugger. I'm sure a replacement windscreen is going to be very exy - does anyone have experience with chip repairs?

Yeah, one of the first things that happened to me after getting the Jetta.

Had mine fixed by Novus and it was quite satisfactory. The repair is not totally invisible but it is virtually unnoticeable.

      Cheers

Thanks all! I was hoping to get a repair rather than a replacement, so that name would be much appreciated!

                  All Done!

Chip is now repaired. No point photographing, coz you cant see it!!

Great job, great service, $66. and the advice is, if you have a stone chip and want to get it repaired, do it straight away, coz any grime that gets into the cracks make the repair less successful.
