Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Paint chip/wheel repairs on Golf R

    Hey guys,

    Long time since i posted here. Have had a 2010 Golf R since Jan 2011 which has clocked up just over 30k without any issues *touch wood*. However the Mrs has scratched a couple of the silver rims on the gutter and last weekend some goose whacked the front guard with a walking frame when moving it between cars in a car park, taking a small chip out of the paintwork. Anyone recommend where to get repair kits from? I found a couple on Ebay from this supplier but not sure if they are any good.

    Hey mate,

    If you can trust yourself to do the touch up on the body work, the spare parts at any dealer should have a touch up kit (Body colour and clear coat) for around $20 odd. Not sure about the wheels though.

          Anyone have the right code for the 17" Denvers on a Mk6 GTI...............I dont think the paintcode (for the wheels) is on the rating plate.

            These guys will be more expensive than buying touch up paint, but they took out all the scratches and a chip out of one of my 19" silver rims and now they look like new Wheel Solutions- Wheel Repaires Melbourne Australia - - Restoration. They even straighten wheels. Great work.
