Over the Xmas break I had the time to finally claybar, polish, seal and wax the Golf R (when I took delivery it got a generous double layer of wax to carry it to the Xmas break). After doing this, both doors were creaking/squeaking really badly every time I went over speed bumps or entered driveways. It had never done this prior so I must have washed something off, or put on something it didn't like. After a few busy weeks back at work the noise finally drove me sufficiently crazy to do someting about it.
A quick Google and forum search gave me this solution. First a quick wipedown of the door rubbers with EINSZETT Cockpit Premium. A few minutes to dry and then a generous layer of EINSZETT Gummi Pflege, both products were from our forum sponsor CarCareProducts. I let it dry for about 15 minutes. Then a test drive disguised as taking the other half to coffee this morning, no more noise
I like this solution because it is all water based, no silicons or high tech lubes or whatever. Those German chaps know what they're doing.
