Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf MK6 GTI Tornado Red Nanolex Professional Paint Protection

Firstly thank you again to another customer (Michael) who has allowed us to post photos of his fantastic MK6 GTI.

This being a brand new car and already a couple weeks old did require some small paint correction needed as light spider webbing/cob webbing marks were already visible, including the gloss black pillars which most of you know do scratch up easily. Unfortunately my ability again with the Nikon & the T-Red is very hard to capture all the light markings on the paint, and the good shots were taken by the detailer! Number plates were edited out, all pictures are untouched.

The car was Sealed with Nanolex Professional Paint Protection on the Exterior Paintwork including Headlights, Taillights, Grills and all painted surfaces and all done in-house here @ Car Care Products in Rozelle.

    All comments/questions are welcome.

Looks good! What did you use to get rid of the swirls on the black pillar trims?

Out of interest - what does a treatment like this cost? just roughly of course.

Pierre do you have any recommendations for a good wax after putting on the Nanolex Sealant?

I've had Nanolex on my car for a good 6 months now, and while the water still beads off as usual and doing the usual washing with a neutral pH shampoo (my products were all bought after your recommendations), I just have that urge to put some wax onto it to make it even more shiny. It supposed to last about 18-24 months, isn’t it? Are you saying that the Nanolex is fading out just after 6 months?

Would also like a rough estimate as I'm looking for something like this when I pick up my gti on later this week.
