Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I think everyone forgets and doesn't realise it is not a "cleaning" solution. It is to help lift the dirt off slash pre-soak to remove excess dirt from the car before you wash.

Trying to make things for you as touchless as possibly when it comes down to wiping over with a mitt so you do not scratch up the paint.
    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

Got my Autobright foam lance on Friday, using Duragloss 901. I guess my expectations were to high, the cleaning was pretty poor. It did soften the crud so the karcher got it off ok. Took a bit of experimenting to get the right foam out of the lance.

I'll wait and see what the Autobright stuff is like when it is back in stock.

Magifoam does offer a lot more foaming ability to the Snow Foam Lance that is a definite. However as mentioned by Fuzion above we do also recommend as a 'pre-wash' before you wash the car with the 2 Bucket Method. We would not say that Magifoam is a "Wash" as such.

So I was looking into the Snow foam lance independantly of this forum and was pretty set on getting one from an online random UK seller (or from the US) but after reading this entire thread I am so impressed with CCP's atitude and response to posts in this thread that I would rather spend the extra $20 odd dollars to keep an Australian company in business who has shown such decorum.

I'll just need them to recommend foam etc, etc.

Just place my first order with CCP & ended up getting a snow foam lance - they're on sale for $100, hard to resist! Now I need to go to Bunnings & buy a Gerni

On costs, for anyone having the misfortune to be hit up by the Australian Government on customs duties (which way outstrip GST), it's not hard to work out where the money goes (unlike digital downloads). Customs Duties add big bucks to any overseas order worth more than a K.

The Autobrite Snow Foam lance/pre-wash is great fun, and works well. You still have to wipe to lift dirt, but it helps much.

Definitely recommend getting a pressure washer with the longest lance hose you can afford - makes life much easier!
