Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Anyone in Brisbane experienced in car spraying?

    Hey all,

I'm wanting to paint my MK1 white, but i'm afraid my experience with a spray gun is next to nil; so I'm wondering anyone out there in the Brisbane region is handy with one of these bad boys? I'm willing to prep the car (get it back to bare metal) and buy the paint, and can look after you with beer or $$. Just a feeler to see if anyone would be up to the job!

I have a spray gun and stuff. I sprayed my first car (ke70) was ghetto as haha
I paint our conveyor covers and protection plates at work. That's my experience.

I'll ask my mate who did my green mk3 how much he'd charge for painting if preprepped.
You would need to take it to Gympie, but it would be a spray n bake job
