I'm going to go DIY with Nanolex. It looks pretty good to me. But I too am interested in what people think.

Also looking at Nanolex or the Durogloss, so will be interested to see which one is better. Durogloss appears more friendly to leather.

I use 303 Fabric protection, works well for me. Not very expensive, so reapply it once year, will not break the bank.

303 Fabric Guard Spray can easily do the whole car. Tends to last 6-12 months depending on wear and tear from kids, animals etc.

Spray on application, incredibly easy!

The price of the 303 seems good, and I like their Aerospace protectant, but how good is the 303 Fabric Guard really? Their "demonstration video" shows them pouring water on a fabric roof and it rolling off... well big whoop, you'd hope a roof is water proof wouldn't you

How does it do on fabric seats? Will it stop your spilt bottle of water from soaking in? Serious question, I'm not stirring the pot here!
The Nanolex Textile and Leather Sealant does achieve this as you can see from their video. I haven't used the Nanolex in my car - I'm using the g|Techniq I1, and it exhibits this same quality. It's pretty amazing. It also seems cheaper than the Nanolex (at least on a $ per ml basis).

In my Golf R I have leather seats, so I'm only using the g|Techniq on my carpet and mats, as well as A/B/C pillar fabric (it's amazing how many people put their hands on those areas when getting in and out of cars! grr). I believe a dedicated leather shampoo/conditioner regime is best for leather... but that's just me

I think the difference is the Nanolex Sealant is for Leather and Fabric. The Gtechniq one is for Fabrics. More versatile you could say as it can do both i suppose.

With Roofs, big woop .. well i think you need to see a roof that has had NOTHING on it, it becomes a very large sponge and absorbs the water instead of repelling it lol. Fabric tops tend to hold water, dirt and everything else if you dont look after them! I remember my friends he could push the water out with a water blade as it was holding that much lols.

Vinyl roofs tend to fade and look shabby as well. It all comes down to again how much you look after anything i guess!

I am about to pick up a car with beige carpet. So should this prevent mud from staining if I apply every 12 months?

Of course I am careful but it's the passengers who often are not as mindful of how muddy their shoes are after heavy rain.
