Spray waxes and sealants

Is it ok to use a spray wax like Duragloss aqua wax as your final step on a car that has been treated with nanolex paint sealant.

I was thinking of using this as the final step in a car wash or would this interfere with the sealant - ie de bond it from the paint?

IMO, the Nanolex sealant as your final step would be more than sufficient. As has been mentioned many times on the forum:
1. Wash'n'Dry
2. Clay'n'Wipe
3. Nanolex Paint Cleaner
4. Nanolex Sealant, on body and wheels

Anyway, that's what I will be doing when I get my wheels this week

Yeh - same here - i will be doing that. But I was talking about just the regular weekly / fortnightly wash. You know - the final finishing spray / wipe over after you have finished it all off.

I wouldn't recommend it as Aquawax is more a polymer sealant, where Nanolex is Nanotechnology.

I would be more inclined to recommend you Nanolex Activating Shampoo otherwise the Nanolex Premium Spray. You wouldn't get anymore added shine with Nanolex as its at its almost Max already!!

Hey CCP, as I live in a recycled water area of Sydney, if I don't use a "quick detailer" after I wash then the car doesn't look as deeply clean and shiney because all the [i]tiny[/b] droplets of water that are left by the microfibre waffle weave towel and evaporate away within a few seconds are not completely clean.

So if you don't recommend using Aquawax in combination with Nanolex Paint Sealant, is there another product you would suggest for the "final wipe over" during the regular washing process that Ohmang is talking about?

Hey Corey,

I would suggest either the Nanolex Premium Paint Spray, the Wolf's Nano Quick Detailer. With the nanolex spray, very minimal needs to be sprayed.

But otherwise the 921 would be a better option than the 951 aquawax.

Other suggestion may be to use a "inline" water filter. We are testing a few right now. PM us for further information if you like.

Corey, I use filtered water for washing our cars. I had used Puratap filter setup with the garden hose connectors to run the water from tap to high pressure cleaner. I get less water spots after washing.

You can use the nanolex spray sealant to top it up or you can try something like poorboys quick wax plus which will add wax and therefore leave a different finish. Adding wax on top of sealant is not only a good way to keep the sealant on there longer but also a good way to add more depth and a different shine to your paint. Just depends on the actual paint and your preference on the finish.

As mentioned, you are mixing a polymer style spray over a nanotechnology product. If you were adding wax to a polymer/synthetic coating that would be fine however with Nanolex their genuinely is no point. You will change the look yes, you however also will change the properties and durability/longevity of the product as well.

A nano product provides honestly probably the best protection possibly you can get. If you want to go down the Polymer line maybe try Zaino, Duragloss, Wolfs, Opti or another Polymer Sealant style product.
