Protecting my car from harsh WA sun

Guys, we literally never see clouds over here in WA and I'm paranoid about leaving my shiny new GTI out in the sun all day every day at the train station.

What precautions do people take or would recommend taking to protect the car from the sun?

I've had a product called Optimum Opti Coat applied and after 4 months of our harsh WA sun (parked outside at work) the shine is still immaculate, I'm very happy with this product which was applied by Mark from Freedom Car Care.

this product looks interesting. I just ordered the basic detailing kit from you guys (hoping it arrives by tomorrow so I can clean the car this weekend) is the nanolex easy to apply and will it work with the Duraglos Aquawax I have ordered?

Nanolex is a bit complex to apply in the sense of "make sure paint is clean" but application is easy just follow the instructions.

Aquawax you would use a maintenance every week, not directly after.
