  • 303 squeak when used on door seals

Hi Beetles. I treated my new GTI with 303 on interior surfaces and external plastics and door seal rubber.
Has anyone experienced this stuff causing squeaking between the rubber and the door? What should I do about it. Cheers. S

Stu, did you wipe it off after applying? technically, that's what you're supposed to do, not that I do though That might cause the squeeky squeeky...

I would be using Gummi Pflege rubber care on your door seals. That's what it's designed for. I had the same issue with my Golf until I used Gummi Pflege and now it's pretty darn quiet.

This forum never ceases to amaze. Thanks a mill for this. Can I get this at CCProds? Love the name Gummi Pfledge! Cheers. S

I remember asking the same question ages back and there was something about the BMW dealers having them? Then again if CCP is more convenient, you could definitely give them a ring.

I got mine from Waxit.com.au it's about $20. I don't know if CCP sell it. But it wouldn't hurt in asking them.

CCP doesn't have Gummi Pflege unfortunately.
The other stuff which people say works a treat with the door seals is Krytox (the VW dealers use this.. it's available in a few different forms though. Maverick is the expert on that subject and I think it is detailed at his site).

I'm glad this thread exists as it was only this weekend passed that I was cleaning my R and applying the 303 everywhere when I looked at the door seals and thought, nah, better not! hehe

That Krytox cost way too much. I'd be using the Gummi.

                      Gummi me up!

My door seals have squeaked constantly ever since I bought my car over 6 months ago.

Yeah Corey, I am thinking of giving CCP a call to clarify this issue. It has really p#%^*d me off. I have read that the Gummi (bears!) can attract dirt and grease and can create smears on windows and clothing! I read stuff on BMW and Merc bulletin boards. Most think this stuff is ace.
What do you reckon? Cheers. S

I've never used the Gummi Bears, so I'm not really in a position to comment. I just know from owning several VW's now (and friends with BMWs etc) that the Euro's door seals are sensitive to products and to leave them well alone!

                            Stu,

Thats very strange. As i have used it on mine always and have had any issues at all and also know my friend uses it on his new Golf R with no noises at all.

You can easily take it off with some apc and wipe it down/off

Thanks CCP. I don't know what way to turn at the moment: Gummi Pflege; Krytox; APC (dont know what this is). I feel that Corey is right: dont touch the door seals! And for a brand new car to have this is very annoying and concerning. Any further help is most welcome. S
