Got some rain in..

Hey all,

Well, last night, for the first time i left my car out of the carport, basically left it out to get my bike off, then went inside and had a drink and didnt put it back in, i didnt really think much of it, was only one night.

Went back out this morning, started it up, and realised my mate who was in the car at the time didn't put the window up , this normally wouldnt be a problem, but we got a bit of a downpour last night and some water got in the passenger side window.

It was a little damp behind the seat inserts, as was a bit of the carpet, but nothing too dramatic from viewing. What i want to know is if theres anything i should do? Water absorbing crystals? Just anything in general that i should be doing after taking in a little water!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Drewr,

Thats some bad news.....luckily it didn't flood....if you go to coles they have a water absorbing pack that absorbs moisture found mostly in the cleaning section normally near the air freshener area....i would use that to absorb all the moisture and also run the heater with the air con on when driving to dry it up.....

does you car have side airbags?? if it does you might want to check to make sure the water didn't damage the airbags in the seat...i know that those things are sensitive to water.....

The best way would be to turn your car on, close all the windows and let your heater on full blast for about 10-15 mins.

It will be basically an oven and cook and dry everything inside the car. If you do find any smell in the car i wouldn't suggest an air freshner as most of them do smell quite bad. Try something like Duragloss Absorb It Spray to give you more of a neutral smell and to retain the natural car smell.

Everything seems to be back on track now; I'm about to do an order with CarCareProducts though, so i'll order some of that Absorb it spray while i'm at it!!
