  • Which Nanolex product?

I have 2 years old silver metallic Octavia to detail incl. wax/sealant (or both). The paint is in almost perfect condition.

Which Nanolex product would be the best to use? He is a good customer of mine so the longevity is important. His intention is to have it re-done in 12 months time and he washes his car weekly.

If you are looking for a full 12 months protection then you will need to apply this Nanolex Premium Sealant and maybe suggest to your customer to use this Reactivating Shampoo it is a great wash and will make sure the coating, protection and water beading remain throughout the year.

      Thanks,

just finished the job. Car looks good. I've used NanoWax let it dry for 2 hours and used premium spray sealant on the top. He is happy with the result.

Great products, I'm converted to Nanolex now.

Thanks for the feedback and news.

Nanowax is a great All-In-One Product and with the Premium Sealant on top it should last nicely. If you can get your customer to use the Reactivating Shampoo the waterbeading and protection will carry on and on and on...

What premium wax if any would you recommend after a nanolex sealant treatment?
Would a wax add depth if applied after it?

          Cheers

            morgs,

To be honest with you i would just leave the Nanolex and not layer it for a Black car. You will get a really nice glassy, wet sharp look from the black this way which personally i think looks a lot better for black colours.

If you do have pearl/flake (metallic) paint such as BMP you can layer it for a bit more depth however you will still notice the flake in the paint with the nanolex.

Personal choice at the end of the day! But i think black when it looks 'wet' and 'glossy' is the best look for a black car!

Has anyone ever compared Nanolex with G|Techniq products?

I know that G|Techniq isn't really widespread in Australia (yet), but they seem to have favourable reviews in the UK detailing forums.

I am geting a new GTI in Feb. I presume it wouldn't need Nanowax but just the sealant when the car arrives? Cheers. S

                  Corey:
Nanolex and Gtech are similar on some products like Nanolex Professional is similar in looks and performance to C1, both amazingly long lasting but the Gtech usually comes out more expensive for a lesser quantity. Both class leading in the world of sealants though.

                  Stu:
Yes absolutley correct you can just go straight on with the Sealant Kit to seal and protect - for both paint and rims even glass and leather!

What sort of treatments would you recommend for 9 year old black paint with a lot of swirl marks? (2002 Bora which previous owners took through car washers too much)

                      Peter,

The only way you are going to bring some, if not a lot of life back into it would be to Machine Polish the entire car and follow it by a Sealant or Wax (your preference). We have a few kits available which contain everything you need to get the finish you are after (just sealant needed of your choice).

So in order would be Wash the Car with some APC to remove anything on the paint, Clay the Car, Machine Polish and when completed follow with a Wax/Sealant as already mentioned.

Below is a link to the how to section to give you a bit more information on how to do the above if you're not quite sure. Any experienced or non experienced person can get a very good result, it is more a case of time and eye to detail.

Carcareproducts: when I ordered my GTI I had a followup call from the dealer offering dealer paint sealant and interior treatment (and rear tinting). I wonder if they simply use your products for this. However, they did say the treatment is guaranteed for 3 years! Any thoughts? S

                          Hi all,

Quick delivery on products! thanks CCP.
Spend most of today applying products, arms/back now stuffed...

This is what I did today. Car new, never washed, black metallic paint.

Washed with ph neutral shampoo. 2 buckets/mit.
                          Wiped dry with microfibre towel.
                          Clay bar with lube spray.
Hosed down and towel dry again.
                          Applied Nanolex paint cleaner
                          Applied Nanolex paint sealant
                          Applied Nanolox Glass cleaner
                          Apllied Nanolex Glass sealant.

                          Finish looks great.

After all this was applied I noticed very small flaws in the factory paint, perhaps due to the now mirror like finish. Not sure if they are swirl marks, but I can see very fine lines if I look hard and close in some parts of the body. (Strange car has never been washed until now.) Not sure what the dealer did before delivery though.

Also noticed huge amount of static. Its attracting dust and things floating in the air etc.
Also I am getting smudges, not sure if the sealant needs more time as the surface is not as slippery as I expected like some waxes I have used on other cars.
Will try a second coat of sealant again soon.

                          Anyone had static/smudge issues?

                          Cheers Morgan

I haven't used Nanolex sealant, but I've noticed with other brands of "nano products" you get smudging if you're using TOO MUCH of the product. So I'd give carcareproducts a call in the morning first before putting any more on

                              Hi Morgan,

                              Your process sounds correct.

The very light swirls or small flaws are probably from the dealer, we see brand new cars here all the time that have come straight from the dealer and it is only when you really look that you can see the small imperfections. They are usually generated by the dealership washing with a sponge that might have seen 100+ cars that week and not to mention the chamois!

The surface after you put the sealant on will not be 'slippy' because firstly it is not fully 'cured' and secondly because it is not designed to be slippy, it is in fact micro-textured which provides the best surface for dirt repellence and protection.

As for the smudges try wiping them off, if it is paint sealant that will not come off you can simply apply a timy amount of fresh sealant over the top, which will redissolve what is on the surface and they buff off after 5 mins.

The static comes from you buffing of the sealant and statically charging the car through friction. If you want it gone, simply wash the car tomorrow and that should remove any dust and the static.

Hope this helps, but if you need any other info or assistance - please give us a call or email at any time
