Should i use lacquer?

I am about to paint the exterior trim on my mk3 golf in a matte black and i was wondering if i want a matte finish should i still use a lacquer?

yes. you can get matt clears that wont add a shine. Having a clear over the colour will make life so much easier in terms of maintenance
