Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Recommended repairer in Brisbane - Old Beetle

Someone in Brisbane is seemingly out to get VW's. Firdt mine and now someone at work.

I realise this is VW Watercooled, but can anyone recommend a repairer or place to get parts (rear drivers guard and possibly rear bumper) for an old beetle? I don't know the year but can find out if neccesary.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

For air cooled VW stuff I usually forward people to the Aussie Vee Dubbers forum Aussieveedubbers - Home - Powered by UltimaBB where there is a wealth of knowledge and wisdom on old VWs from people who've been doing it for years.

Parts may not be so hard to find (esp on that forum), but from what I understand it is getting harder (and more expensive) to find a good, reliable panel beater willing to work on an old VW and who will actually do a good job. Hopefully you only need to replace a panel or 2.

    All the best.

    Cheers.
