Stupid, careless panelbeater!!!!

I bumped Madam Jetta in a car park and she had to be repaired. I let the insurance company take care of it. I picked her up today with a new front guard and repaired bumper.

All's well until I get home and go to open my driver's door to get out and ...

It doesn't open first go - I have to try a second time. It doesn't feel right, 'cos the keys were and out it should just open. On closer inspection, the handle is out of alignment.

What's the bet some thug has tried to open the locked door and doesn't understand how it works (first tug unlocks, second tug opens). So they've just tried the 'brute strength ' method and stuffed my door handle mechanism.

I'll call my claim manager first thing tomorrow. I'll be telling them I want it repaired at their cost at VW please, where they know how these things work.

The car wash they used managed to remove part of my bagding so now I drive a 2.0 TD and I swear my driver's seat was cleaner when I left it - although this could be imaginary.

The assessor told me the door locking thing is common with VW's.
They had to remove the handle when blending the paint on the new guard anf if they don't get it all back together just right ...
He used to hate working on VW's for just this reason.

Anyway, back to the repairer next week for adjustments.

All was fixed in a day. Lock works. Badge replaced. They even cleaned my seat!

Which repairer did you use? Dare I say AAMI? Only asking because I had a plumber's van kiss my @ss last night and now I need to find a decent repairer that wont bend and flex to AAMI. I know, my own fault for choosing them!

Sorry to hear of your issues, it's bad enough having the inconvenience of your car being damaged and needing repair, even more annoying when other things are damaged in the process.

It's time for revenge - dare I say it - an eye for an "I"
