  • VW Golf Sill Panel

    Hi,
my driver side sill panel is rusted in my Mk.1 2 door. Where can I get a new one in Sydney? Are they still available from VW as a spare part? Cheers

I doubt you'll get a new one from VW as a spare part. Try a wreckers and cut out a good section you want or unpick the whole sill panel. You could also cut a good section out of yours and take it to a sheet metal shop and get them to fold up a new one. Just need the length and get them to make it out of .6 or 1mm zincalume. Won't rust again in a hurry! Hope this helps.

If it is zincalume I would not be able to weld it to surrounding metal. May have to get one folded up by a fabricator. Anyone know if there are any Mk.1 Golfs wrecking in Sydney? Cheers.

So crazyquiff gets their panels from Volkswarenhaus/typ 17? Is this correct? Cheers.
