Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I bought some Dodo Juice shampoo, pre-wax cleanser, hard wax and the relevant cloths from CCP. Each one does a fantastic job. It takes a while to do everything, but the result is worth it.

I'm not sure of the best way to clean my cloths. I have micro-fibre towels and applicators that have pre-wax cleanser and wax on them that need cleaning. Suggestions?

      Mint M-Wash.

50-90mL of that in the machine, plus I use a normal dose of laundry liquid stuff, and a normal clean on a non-hot setting. Oh, I've seen colours mix a tiny bit too so if you've got white and also blue cloths, the white cloths might turn sky blue! (That might be me being retarded though )

Another vote for the Supernatural wax - have applied it to a few cars now and the finish is fantastic. Works a treat on darker colours - I got the best results on my black & red cars - still did a great job on the silver cars but not quite as noticeable. Followed the application instructions - very thin application, polish off, repeat 24 hours later - and am very happy with the results.
