  • Passat clean up

    Hey Guys and Girls,

Today i did this full detail on well loved VW Passat. It wasnt in to bad condition considering its age.

Exterior was washed then polished with Autoglym Super Resin Polish

Interior carpet was shampooed then all plastics and leather cleaned with Autoglym PM3. Leather was conditioned with Duragloss conditioner

For the wheels and interior i used the new Vikan brush range. I have been trialing these brushes for the last 2 weeks and they are fantastic. The 2 wheel brishes save so much time and enable the inside of the wheel to be cleaned very effectively, especially when combined with a quality wheel cleaner like Clean Wheels to do most of the work.

Car is for sale so if anyone is interested let me know and ill pass your details onto the owner. Hope you enjoy.

    Dan

The boot had been resprayed and there was a hell of a lot of micro scratches all over it. After a quick buff it was better than new. Here is a 50/50 of it

    Completed car

Where the drivers knee rubbed on the plastics

    Drivers seat before

    Drivers seat 50/50

Drivers bolster before and after (rest of the seat finished)

Climate sensor was full of dust so cleaned out with my Vikan brushes

    Steering column

The center console was very dirty. It had stuff split all over it.

Door handle was dirty from 11 years of use

    Floor mats 50/50

The floors were filthy because they are beige. I think its such a dumb color for manufacturers to use as a floor lol

The grime that had accumulated in the console insert

The line where the floor mat had helped (slightly) protect the carpet

The indicator stalk was very dirty as it is frequently touched

The headlights were very bad and heavily oxidised. I did a very very quick cleanup on them, the picture dosnt pick it up that well but it was the 1st thing the customer noticed. On the weekend ill do a full writeup on how to fix lights that have gone like this with pics.

wow very nice work once again, and what a shine for 11 year old paint.

A proper interior clean is often difficult, my seats have an inch of dirt that doesn't want to come out.

Best way to deal with 20years of grime in seats? Fabric not leather.

              Thanks!

Best way may be to get a pro detail. It will most likely need repeat shampooing. If your keen to do it yourself then go to wollies and hire one of their shampoo machines and give it a shot! If you do that then call Car care Products and ask for a pretty heavy duty interior cleaner and pre spray the seats with that before shampooing.

Yes my apologies but i did not get time to do the thread. I will do one but i need to wait till i get a car that needs them doing. I could do the write up without pics if you want?

Unless pics are really esssential I guess just the words should do fine. Can the average joe like myself do it or would you recommend sending it to a pro.
