Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VG Autos - Free touch-up lessons

VG Auto Paints is a renowned name among automotive paint suppliers in Sydney and surrounding areas. Avail all kinds of painting service through professional team.

Located at Girraween, NSW (opposite Seb's workshop). I went there with a mate yesterday. Two attendants (experienced in their trade) were there to teach us. Starting at 8am, we began with learning and using the correct filler for certain applications as well as the techniques involved. Next was the sanding process, then into the spray booth where we were taught how to setup a spray gun. Also learnt to properly prep the panel for paint, and the guys also told us about blending, which was an easier process than I first thought. We finished at around 11am, after they went through the buffing and polishing steps.

Asked a good deal of questions which they answered no problems. The whole lesson was quite hands-on. It was a good experience and would definitely recommend it to others! They hold the free lessons once every month/5 weeks.
    Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
    Present: Mk3 Golf variant.
