Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk1 Radiator Support - Local supply??

    Hi

Does anyone know where to get one of these locally instead of importing from OS?

Early Style Rad Support For MK1
This rad support is pre 1981 Rabbit style. Converts your rectangle headlight car to round headlights.
You can use this rad support on Rabbit, Jetta 1, Cabriolet, & Caddy.
Has mounting holes for installation of Duck Bill Spoiler or Mini Duck Bill Spoiler.
Note: MK1 rad supports are welded on, not bolted on.

I think someone 'round here said they're still available OEM because of the long run of the MK1 based cabby.

Try a dealership or perhaps Hanvic. http://www.hsy.com.au/

There are heaps of secondhand ones around. I am sure it wouldnt be hard to tidy one up.
I will find out one day when I replace the front of the Caddy. I have a spare section here but freight might ne an issue...
