Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Yeti Pre-FL: DRLs and Cornering Fog Lights

    Hi Pre-FL Yeti owners,

103TDI/112TSI owners - Just wondering if the cornering fog light function is standard from factory or if it is something that you have to manually turn on via VCDS?

77TSI owners - is there anything in the circular fog light assembly other than the halogen DRLs that take up the top section? Is it possible to retrofit fog lights if they don't come standard in the 77tsi (as the housing obviously exists)? I came across this video and started wondering if the 77TSI could utilise the fog lights as cornering lights, even if the fog light functionality isn't standard in the lower range. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBhdZCVhpzs

Any info would be much appreciated, thanks!

I think you can turn on the cornering fog lights via the steering wheel. (I think) I also have a feeling that Dumb Skoda Australia thought they could charge more for something that was a simple programing option.

I never worried about mine as I have cornering headlights via the BiXenons.

    Happy Days.

When I got the Yeti, I was told by the salesman that it came with cornering fog lights. Silly me thought that was some mechanical turning light. Took ages to find that it is just a software function. A nifty one though.

VAG code 8WD "Integrated front fog light" I have annotated "includes cornering function" (can't remember where I got that from)

Download the owner's manual. Page 49 mentions 'Fog lights with the function “CORNER”'. Could be a VCDS option, not sure. Dealers want $30+ to change a setting in the computer.
